It is the Sunday before Christmas. Our Christmas Shoppe this morning is The Candy Shoppe. There’s something magical about a candy shop at Christmas. The colors. The smells. The joy. Candy doesn’t solve life’s problems—but it reminds us that life is meant to be sweet. Christmas is far more than ornaments and decorations, it is about how we express our own love for Jesus as we celebrate His birth. The characteristics of God’s love are like the ingredients found in the best of candy and so today, in our visit to The Candy Shoppe we find the true meaning of Christmas all over again.

It should come as no surprise that a shop that is loaded with stories waiting to be discovered is a Book Shoppe. Today we step inside and explore the story that changes everything. It’s that magical time of year when everything seems to speed up, then slow down a little….we do our best to get ready to celebrate, but no matter what – Christmas happens! So we are going to do some shop looking this Christmas season. The first stop in our series is The Coffee Shoppe. Much like sharing a cup of coffee with someone special, the Christmas story invites us to connect. Christmas is just around the corner, so today let’s stop at the corner Coffee Shoppe.

It is the Sunday before Christmas! Wow – where have the days gone so quickly. Christmas arrives, as it always does, and each year there are always surprises. Has anything surprised you this Christmas? Perhaps you have learned something new about the Christmas story that you never knew before. Maybe you have had the chance to bless someone in a surprising way. Perhaps you might have found a surprising gift to share, or perhaps you have received something that surprised you. Surprises are certainly a big part of Christmas not only today, but also at the very first Christmas. Once again, we visit with the Night Shift Shepherds, out in the fields, carrying for the temple sheep and get caught up all over again in their surprise that first Christmas night.
